Miss Flamborough was originally a portrait of William Holman Hunt’s daughter Gladys as little Miss Flamborough from Oliver Goldsmith’s novel The Vicar of Wakefield 1794.

(for a much more detailed description + its subsequent repainting)
Graham was born in 1943 and as far as I know still alive.
Graham repainted Gladys using his own model and unique vision.
