Collection of Letters - John Everett Millais

This collection of letters were made by William Henry Millais in 1852/3 and describe painting trips with his brother John. In the second picture shown here it is John carving the meat. The first includes Ruskin and Effie (still married at this time) on their northward journey to Brig o'Turk near Callander in the Trossachs in 1853.

These are fabulous! I'd never seen these before. So typical of Millais - even his sketches are fabulous! What incredible attention to detail, eh?

Thank you. I'm working back through an old auction catalogue and I had missed this. I love the little informal sketches of the lives of these fascinating people.
