Art influenced by the art and themes of the Pre Raphaelites with biographies, auctions and information on these artists.
I can't find the right words for this but . . .There are some portraits where one is, in looking at it, aware that one is looking at a painting, a work of art. There are others where one bypasses the painting and the painter and feels one is looking directly at the person in the portrait. This belongs to the second category. But where words go wrong is that this suggests it isn't also a work of art which, clearly, it is.Very striking!Lucy
A very good comment Lucy. I've often wondered when is a painting a photograph and what really is the difference and what makes a painting a work of art.
