Of all the exotic elements that the artists and designers got into, my students loved the peacock best. And noone did it more elegantly than de Morgan.

The Peacock seems to have been a big thing for Arts and Craft - not sure why.

I loved the line: "peacock feathers, lilies, sunflowers and blue and white chinoiserie, symbols of an art movement gorgeous in its detail, shimmering in surface and verging on the decadent."

What could be more gorgeous than peacocks?

Love the muted colors and pattern on pattern. Beautiful!

William and Evelyn de Morgan must have been such a fascinating couple - a dinner party I would have loved. William's tiles in Leighton House are amazing.
