John Millais' studio in the house he built at Palace Gate in London
The best view I can find of John Millais' studio in the house he built at Palace Gate in London. It shows the enormous fireplace and the tapestries on the walls. Rich clients came up the marble staircase; models up an obscure back stairs so as not to meet his family. The studio had a special thin door to the outside to allow finished canvases to be transported.
