John Melhuish Strudwick - Acrasia
The inspiration for this painting is "The Faerie Queene", by Edmund Spenser from the end of the 1500s. The enchantress Acrasia is depicted in the 'Bower of Bliss' surrounded by handmaidens with a knight at her mercy.
This is so gorgeous! Reminds me a little of Burne-Jones' work...(:
