Ohhh I am truly passionate about red heads! My husband was a bright gingy, one of my sons marginally less so and two of the grandsons are back to even brighter red hair than their grandfather had had.
But but..
Siddal may well have been a muse to artists and poets. But they were young men on the make! I bet they were more impressed by her gorgeous body and her stunning red hair then they were with her intellect or spiritual qualities. Rossetti possibly even more so than the other young randy blokes.
I am not sure that the T.V series did much for the reputations of the PRB but times were different then and actually Dear William Morris did not treat his model badly ,he was ahead of his time and even let her dally with Rossetti!

Although I have to admire Rossetti's art I think his personal behavioue especially to Elizabeth disgraceful. Burying and digging up his poems - sick!
