Dorothea Mary Roby Thorpe (d.1942) married in 1897 Godfrey Benson (1864-1945), a Liberal politician and man of letters; in 1911 he became Baron Charnwood and his wife was then styled Lady Charnwood; she was an author and wrote the book 'An Autograph Collection and the Meaning of it', published in 1930
