  1. Why did Ruskin's career as an artist never quite take off? There is nothing with being a critic, art historian, patron and connoisseur, but I wonder if he always had a niggling doubt about what life might have been like.. if only.

  2. He was a drawer more than a complete artist and published a series of books on the art of drawing, though he did some good watercolours.
