Ford Madox Brown - Chaucer at the Court of Edward III

The studies for this complex picture began in the 1840's, and originally it was ging to be a triptych. It was painted not long after he came under the influence of the PRB (though never actually a member) and its tonal range and use of natural sunlight reflect this. Ford carefully researched the costumes and it is full of rich details. It was exhibited in 1865 and was rightly very popular.
I think that this gallery is one of the best one in the world, I really like it, I would like to have the chance of visit this place because I love this kind of pictures!
