Thomas Woolner


One of the original seven members of the PRB. Sculptor, poet and part-time art dealer. In 1852 he went to Australia to make his fortune in the gold-fields but returned to England in 1854 disappointed.
In this picture he is seen sculpting a bust of his friend Lord Tennyson which was completed in 1873. Albumen print.
