F.G. Stephens praised Hunt's engraving in the Athenaeum as one 'of the most luminous and richly tinted' of the etchings in the Etching Club's portfolio (Athenaeum, 31 January 1880, p. 158). The interior visible in the background is most likely a room in the Hunt's house at 2 Warwick Gardens, Kensington Road.
