Dimbola Lodge is now a Museum dedicated to the life and works of Julia Margaret Cameron. We have two permanent exhibitions.
Julia Margaret Cameron's work is on display in our Cameron galleries. An audio visual display in Mrs Cameron's bedroom tells the story of Julia,
her photographic processes, the history of photo-graphy, and the restoration of Dimbola Lodge Museum which was sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The Solo IOW Pop Festival Room contains memorabilia from all of the IOW Pop Festivals.
This exhibition has kindly been sponsored by the modern day festival promoters, Solo.
Our Olympus Gallery and Seminar Room Gallery show a changing exhibitions programme throughout the year. We have exhibitions by both well known and up and
coming photographers and artists. See our latest brochurefor details.
In the adjoining Tearoom you can peruse a permanent display of cameras through the ages. The Tearoom also hosts changing photographic and art exhibitions through-
out the year.
The latest addition to our attractions is the Olympus
Costume Room, which has been sponsored by Olympus Cameras. Here visitors can experience first hand the recreation of a Victorian studio. You are invited to
dress up and take photographs of yourselves, friends and family using the latest Olympus camera and printer.
The photographs can then be printed for free and kept as a souvenir of your visit to Dimbola.
The Museum also has a gift shop selling a range of books, cards, gifts for all ages and items relating to Julia and the local area.

The Isle of Wight must have been a rather magical, relaxing place to live. And then Cameron also had the stimulating company of her literary and creative neighbours. So I am dismayed when developers try to destroy her home. Just by a fluke it managed to survive.
I hope Dimbola Lodge Museum thrives.
IOW still feels somewhat differetand special. Queen Vic loved it there of course.
