Early notice of Tate exhibitions 2012
Excuse me if I skip past the Damien Hurst nonsense and list the 'art' exhibitions that have just been announced for the Olympic year.
Tate Modern, Edvard Munch: The Modern Eye promises a reassessment of the Norwegian painter, reimagining him as a truly 20th century artist with an interest in photography, film, stage production and the current affairs of the day.
The Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Munch Museum in Oslo are co-conspirators in a deluge of 60 paintings and 50 photographs.
Tate Britain argues that the Pre-Raphaelites raced ahead of the game in their approach to every genre.
Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais hit the hallowed Westminster tracks for rebellion, revivalism, precision and grandeur in a multi-disciplinary treat of more than 150 works, establishing the ever popular brotherhood as self-conscious instigators of the avant-garde.

My best time for being in Britain in any given year is the last fortnight of June and all of July. Could you please ask the Tate to move their exhibitions to a better time for me?
I'll ask Helen - can you take the Olympics back to Australia with you please.
