Just a personal statement

I love the Pre-Raphaelites, but its a vast subject growing every year. I just wanted to state that my own research interests are around William Morris and in particular his political views. These are not very popular at the moment but I regard him as one of the most important figures of the late 20th century (a bold claim I know), and along with Ruskin influenced my views a lot on art and life.

He was an amazing guy. From the standpoint of just seeing what he had done, his interests and range of activity - any one of which would be impressive -were incredible.

Morris is one of my favorites. This year I am going to re-read Fiona MacCarthy's biography of Morris, and do a little studying. He was a great man and awe-inspiring.

Thank you both, just finished MacCarthy's biography and very good it is too. I was tying to dramatise News from Nowhere but hard to get the dialogue right.

I've seen Cupid and Psyche he did with Burne-Jones at an exhibition recently. So great!
